Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and Gel Review!

It’s time for me to share the most amazing moisturizers that have ever touched my skin. Introducing, Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and Gel.

These moisturizers are like a godsend for my skin. I have oily, sensitive acne-prone skin and though my skin is oily, it does get dry depending on the weather. It’s said on the Clinique website that a bottle of this moisturizing lotion is sold every 3.5 seconds! That’s how good this stuff is. My skin is super sensitive, especially the skin on my face. Certain products would make my face turn red and itch like no tomorrow, not to mention cause breakouts. Clinique’s formula is ridiculously and amazingly gentle on my skin. It’s moisturizing gel and lotion are both allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. Actually, I think their entire line of skin care and make-up products are all allergy tested and fragrance free. πŸ˜€

About the lotion: the Clinique website claims, “The moisture “drink” developed by Clinique’s dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance. Softens, smooths, improves.”

About the gel: the website also claims, “The oil-free moisture “drink” developed by Clinique’s dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance for skins comfortable in the cheeks but oily in the T-zone or oily all over. Oil-free formula softens, smooths, improves.”

The gel is more suited for oily/combination skin types and the lotion is more suited towards drier skin types, however I like to use both interchangeably, depending on the season. During the winter, the cold winds make my skin really dry, so the lotion is a lifesaver. However, when it gets warmer, I like to use the gel because of its lightweight texture. But, I do use the lotion at night more-so because my skin is regenerating while I sleep and so I want to provide it with full hydration, and I use the gel during the day because of its lighter texture and feel.

I do like that the gel controls the oil on my face a lot more than the lotion, particularly because it’s formulated for oilier skin types. A little bit of both really goes a long way and it’s easy to pat into your skin and be absorbed.

I love how soft my skin feels and how smooth it looks after applying these moisturizers. Neither one have caused me any breakouts and I’ve been using both for a very, very long time. Both are incredibly moisturizing and provide all day/night hydration. My skin looks great, feels great and I can’t think of any other moisturizers that have been this gentle, and effective on my skin.Β  Honestly, I wouldn’t even think about switching to another moisturizer.

Rate: 5/5 for both.

  1. I am struggling with finding the right moisturizer. Everything lately has been making me break out. My skin was clear before the summer, and every since I switched moisturizers, it was a bad mistake. I used to use clean and clear dual action, then I switched to Aveeno, and now I am using an ulta brand that i am testing out. I hate it so much, and wouldn’t recommend it. But now that I see you have this product, I may give it a try. What would you recommend for scarring, and breakouts?

    1. Try using a toner along with your moisturizer and exfoliate about 3 times a week max to help with scarring. For breakouts, get something that controls oil because a lot of acne stems from the oil on your face being clogged in pores and such. Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel is oil free and it helps control oiliness πŸ™‚ The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Lotion is also a good bet but I don’t know how your skin might react to it.

      1. I have tried the tea trea lotion product before, the smell irritates me, however, I stopped using it after a bit. I just bought the clarisonic, and it seems to be doing an okay job. It is wonderful for cleaning my skin, but I dont think it will prevent breakouts. Which toner and exfoliators do you suggest?

      2. Right now I’m using an all natural witch hazel toner by T.N Dickinson, it does have a smell to it but when it dries it goes away, it helps with oil control and cleans my skin. It’s very affordable and you can find it at any drugstore I think. For exfoliators I recommend St. Ives Apricot Scrub but if you want something a bit more gentle Clinique’s 7 Day Scrub cream does the job.

  2. I love this stuff so much, I have combo skin and I use the lotion and find it really helps to plump up my skin and make it glowy. I read that the lotion contains hylauronic acid, a key ingredient in skincare which might be a reason why this stuff is so genius on nearly every kind of skin.
