The newest addition to my fragrance collection

Oh yes, La Vie est Belle by Lancome, how amazing you smell. I’ve been wanting this fragrance for ages since I’ve smelled it in Sephora and I finally got it!

Words cannot describe how amazing this perfume smells. It’s very sophisticated and in my opinion, can be a winter and a summer scent because it has that note of patchouli which is warm. It’s very strong so only a spritz or two will do and last for the rest of the day. And if you spray it on your hair? It will last for days between washes. It’s main notes are Iris, Patchouli and Gourmand and together they smell heavenly. This is the perfume that gets compliments and stares from people who are wondering what you’re wearing (believe me, it’s happened). It is pretty pricey but you only need about 2 sprays everyday so it will last for a few months at least.

Mini-Forever21 Haul and Happy Easter!

Image                                                                          So I stopped by Forever21 a few days ago, since I haven’t been in FOREVER (no pun intended :D), and I picked up a few ‘spring/summer’ essentials. And as you can see, I went a little overboard on the floral. Oh well, I regret nothing.

Image                                                                           I picked up this super cute teal, floral skater skirt that I’m definitely going to wear high-waisted with a crop top and a pair of tights.

I then got these navy dolphin shorts that are super short so I might have to wear tights under these, and randomly threw in this bikini top because well it was like $5.

And I also got a white knit racerback tank that’s pretty see through but will be the perfect layering piece for a bandeau underneath or I’ll use it as a cover up at the beach since it’s pretty long as well. And I got a pair of floral leggings because I love the leggings that they carry, they’re super soft and comfortable and definitely don’t have that ‘legging’ look and feel.

I really didn’t need any more clothes but I still picked up a few things just for the sake of it. I can’t wait for the weather to get better so I can put these pieces to use!

Also, Happy Easter to all of my readers out there who are celebrating!

Stila Haul!

Hey guys do I’m back with another haul and I’m so excited to share all of these goodies with you! So Stila was having their incredible Fall sale and I couldn’t resist getting my hands on these!ImageSo I picked up their long wear lip color in Serenade, Coquette, Flushed and Lover.ImageI also got the prime pot in Taffy. This stuff literally doesn’t come off after you put it on!IMG_2908-tileAnd since I recently ran out of concealor, I grabbed their Brighten and Correct ConcealorIMG_2931And a white smudgestick waterproof eyeliner and convertible eye colorIMG_2929 Here’s what the lip colors look like out of the boxIMG_2924-horz

And of course, here are the swatches of everything except for the concealor (will be doing a review of it later on).IMG_2935The colors are amazing. Lover is so pigmented but I personally love Flushed and Coquette. I think they’re perfect for Fall and Winter when you don’t want to be wearing really bright colors on your lips. Super natural and moisturizing as well!IMG_2920Stila was also kind enough to throw in a samples of their skincare set and a sample of their color balm lipsticks.IMG_2919Overall, I’m happy with this haul. Can’t wait to use all of these products now!

Mini-Beauty/Clothing Haul

Image So I desperately needed to get a new moisturizer because I was reduced to scraping the little bits left of my old one, and so I went to the mall yesterday. Surprisingly, it was quite busy, maybe due to the fact that it was a Friday and that all the school kids were now out of school and decided to head over. Instead of just picking up a moisturizer I happened to pick up some other things. ImageI went to target and got these Noxzema Anti-Blemish Pads and picked up a concealer and blotting papers from E.L.F. ImageMy next stop was of course…Forever21. I absolutely LOVE their leggings. I literally live in them. They’re so comfy and they don’t look like leggings but like pants. They’re all 95% cotton (YAY) and only 5% spandex. I hate, hate, hate wearing spandex, except from when I’m working out, because it just clings too tight and urghhh, you guys know what I mean hahah. So I picked up these two leggings and I must say I adore the prints. One of them even has zips on the sides of the ankles. Well worth picking up a few of these, because as it gets colder, you’ll need these warm leggings. I then finally headed over to Sephora to get a moisturizer. Prior to going, I had read reviews of some of their most popular moisturizers and I determined to choose between two: Sephora’s Intensive Instant Moisturizer and Josie Maran Argan Oil Light. I tested them out, and even asked the opinion of two sales associates and the winner was the Intensive Instant Moisturizer. ImageImageI was really excited about trying the Josie Maran Argan Oil but when I tried it and let it soak into my skin, I could still see a subtle oil sheen. And as a person with oily skin…that is a definite no. So I went ahead and got the Intensive Instant Moisturizer. I previously used the Instant Moisturizer and loved it but never got a chance to repurchase, so now as the weather is getting cooler and my skin is (surprisingly) getting a bit drier I went for the Intensive because I wanted a bit more hydration. I will be reviewing this moisturizer in the coming weeks or so, so stay tuned for that!

Have any of you guys tried the Josie Maran Argan Oil as a moisturizer? What do you think about it? 😡

Back to school essentials!

IMG_2544Since it’s back to school season (I start next week D: ) I thought I’d do a back to school post about things you’ll need or want for when you go back to school. I tried to cater a bit to high-school/college age students but of course some things apply more to college students since some high schools have strict dress codes.

1. This is my all time favorite blemish fighting product, Etude House’s AC Clinic Red Spot Balm and their AC Clinic cleanser. I had bought this a while ago with hopes that it would help clear up my breakouts and it did!

2. For school, a heavy un-natural eye makeup look is a no-no. It looks too overdone and try-hard. That’s why a nice neutral palette is perfect for adding some definition to your eyes. This is Clinique’s Color Surge Eyeshadow Duo with a blush as well.

3. For girls on a budget this is Clean and Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer which helps fight against breakouts and moisturizes.

4. Of course who can’t go without deodorant! This is a must for everyone, everyday.

5. This is Clinique’s Cream Blush, it’s a cream blush with wonderful pigment that could also double up as a natural lip color.

6. This is The Body Shop’s Soothing Aloe Day cream, it’s pricier than Clean and Clear’s but it really helps to calm redness and inflammation in my skin.

7. My BB Cream is a must everyday. I don’t ever use foundation so this BB cream is the way to go. It’s Etude House’s Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream. I did a review on it a while ago and it’s nothing short of amazing!

8. A compact rollerball keeps you smelling fresh and clean all day long, since it’s a rollerball it’s easy to reapply throughout the day. I love my Jimmy Choo rollerball fragrance 🙂

9. Another eyeshadow duo by Clinique also features natural colors that are appropriate for school and not the club.

10. Maybelline’s Baby Lips not only smells nice but gives you a nice pink tint as well as hydration, if you’re in the rush or can’t wear lipstick to school.

11. Another one of my favorites is MAC’s Cozy Up, which is a nice nude/coral color and doesn’t look dramatic for school.

12. What girl can’t go without eyeliner? Usually schools are lax when it comes to wearing eyeliner so this is one thing you can probably get away with if you go to a strict high school. This is Sephora’s Kohl Eyeliner in Smoky Gray.

Image Here’s a closeup shot of the eyeshadow palettes and the cream blush. Notice how they all seem to be in the same color range 😀 ImageI went shopping in Soho yesterday and of course I had to go visit this really popular, trendy clothing store that I really like. And I got this pair of of shorts which have a little flounce at the sides that look super cute. I also got a new pair of oxfords because my previous ones have been to hell and back, and I needed some new ones. So happy with my purchase! mujiI also visited Muji to pick up by go-to school books where I take all of my notes in. For those of you who don’t know what Muji is, it’s a Japanese chain store that sells everything from school supplies to storage to clothes to skincare, all under their own brand name. They’re super minimalistic, which is one of their charms, and on the higher end of the price range. Their notebooks are amazing because they’re light (which is GREAT) and compact.

I love having a colorful manicure on my nails because not only is it eyecatching but also it looks so fun! The nail polishes are Ciate’s – Skinny Jean and Illamasqua – Venous.
Image And of course these are essential for school! It’s imperative to have your course syllabi printed out, your schedule (of course), your calculator, clicker and your iPad (because who still carries a heavy laptop around?).

Shopping Finds!

So yesterday I went shopping at the mall, in what seemed like forever! I hadn’t been to the mall in ages, so this trip was much needed. ImageMost of the things I got were from Forever21 and Sephora. ImageI got this pair of black and white grid leggings from Forever21. This was actually on my Fall 2013 trends post and I just so happened to come across it in store. Forever21 leggings are 95% cotton which I love because I abhor spandex leggings with a passion! (Except for wearing them to work out, then that’s fine). ImageThe next thing I got was this muscle tee right here. I love the black and gold and how cool it looks. This will look awesome when paired with leggings and combat boots. ImageThe next thing I got was this checkered crop top with long sleeves. Hell yes. Who says you can’t wear crop tops when it’s cold outside? LOL. But really I would wear this top with a black tank top underneath so my midriff isn’t exposed to the cold. I love how vivid the print is and it looks really eye-catching too.ImageThe last thing that I got from Forever21 was this black clutch. It’s a basic black evening clutch with a gold clasp. Looks classy and not too overdone. ImageI stopped by Charlotte Russe and picked up this brown embossed zip-around wallet. I love zip-around wallets and I’ve been meaning to get one for a really long time. It has a lot of card slots and a zippered pouch inside to hold your coins. ImageAt Sephora I grabbed this product on a whim. Literally saw the price, knew nothing about it, but still decided to get it anyways. Who does that? -Women everywhere slowly raise their hands- ImageThis I also grabbed on a whim but this time I have a reason for it! I’m currently running low on my daily moisturizer so I picked this up as a back-up for when it finally finishes. I like that it has antioxidants in it as well.

And that was my little shopping haul. Thanks for reading!

Fall 2013 Trends

With Fall approaching right around the corner, stores have already been bringing in their fall collections, which in my opinion, are amazing. Summer IS great and fun but Autumn is something else. I love the fashion and dressing for fall because there’s just so much you can do with layering or putting together a cozy look. It’s also back-to-school season so shopping for new clothes to go back to school or work or etc has just become a tradition because we’ve been doing it since we were kids. Don’t tell me you never enjoyed back-to-school shopping! That being said, fall trends are what’s going to be in these next few months and I’m excited to go shopping for some of these pieces!

ImageFor starters, Zara’s Fall Collection has already launched and everything just looks so warm! I’m seeing a lot of knits, jackets and blazers, and lots of neutral colors like black, white and greys.

1: Zara – Silk Blouse with Combination Lapel – $19.99

2: Zara – Embroidered Bowling Jacket – $29.99

3: Zara – Two-Tone Sweater – $29.90

4. Zara – Striped Jacket – $29.90
ImageFor shoes, ankle-straps are back and I find them really sexy! Block heels and color-blocks/cap-toes are also really popular right now and oxfords and ankle boots are soon coming back into many daily looks. I personally love wear flats and booties or oxfords, especially when the weather gets chillier. They’re perfect for weather that’s cool but not yet cold.

1. Zara – Leather Ankle Boot with Block Heel – $99.90

2. Necessary Clothing – Cambridge Oxford – $17.99

3. Forever21- Quilted Color-Block Flat – $22.50

4. Zara – Leather Sandal – $79.90ImageFor those of us on a budget aka college students, stores like Forever21, H&M and ASOS are right up our alley. For those of you guys with student IDs, you can get 15% off your entire purchase at H&M and at Forever21 (only on Monday, August 19th)!! While browsing some of my favorite store’s sites, I’ve been seeing a lot of long and 3/4 sleeve dresses that look really comfy as well as stylish and pants with prints such as houndstooth, grids, and jacquard. The color burgundy/wine has also been popping up, which I’m currently obsessed with (and black and white). I definitely cannot wait to get some of these items, I’m going on a shopping spree soon!

1. Forever21 – Forget Me Not Grid Dress – $8

2. Forever21 – Adventurer Drawstring Utility Jacket – $34.80

3. Forever21 – Dotted Grid Leggings – $10.80

4. Forever21 – Tribal Print Bodycon Dress – $12.80

Cute Purchases of The Week!

ImageImage I honestly don’t think I could go one week without spending money on something that I don’t really need. That being said, I’m really excited to wear these purchases because they’re super cute and perfect for summertime.

Floral Dress: I got this floral high low dress, with a tulip-like fold in the front. It’s also strapless and the material is light and airy. It also ties in the front by the waist which completes the look. I can’t wait to wear this!

Jacket: This houndstooth-like jacket is 3/4 sleeved and has a unique lapel fold, which adds some pizzazz to it. It’s light enough to wear during rainy days and in the beginning of fall. It looks professional and when paired properly, can revamp an outfit.

Flats: I was browsing around the mall with a friend when I suddenly realized I needed more close-toed shoes to wear. I picked up these crochet flats in Mint because the color and design was so summery and pretty. Because it’s crochet, it allows your feet to breathe as well.

Rollerball: After spraying the Jimmy Choo scent one day in Sephora, I decided that I had to get it. I didn’t want to take the plunge and get the full-sized bottle so I instead purchased the rollerball. The scent is fantastic and the wear is long lasting. I definitely recommend this.

Rings: I bought this set of rings from Forever21. They’re versatile and could be worn together as one ring, spaced apart or as separate rings altogether.

Express goodies!

This tee is great; it’s soft and light and has this great mesh see-through pattern on the upper bust and down the sides. It’s perfect if you want to show some skin but in an everyday-wear kind of way.Image

Here’s how I would pair this: With this two-style necklace with a matching ring. I love the dual sides to this necklace; it’s huge on one half and has 2 smaller chains on the other half. It’s something different and catches the eye! It’s perfect for sprucing up a tee that’s otherwise plain, and draws attention to the neckline.Image

Top left corner: Two mesh gold-tone bangles from Express

Top right corner: Contrast linked necklace from Express

Bottom left corner: Braided mesh necklace from Express

Bottom right corner: Chain linked ring from Forever 21

Favorite Clothing Purchases of May

Hello guys, I’m finally deviating a bit from the normal skincare and beauty posts. I want to share some of the things I’ve bought non-makeup/skincare wise. Right now I’m in love with these two articles of clothing. This super-cute sundress that I purchased from Aeropostale (yes, I know…ssshh) and these Hollister jeggings that fit like a DREAM. One thing I like about Hollister sizing is that even though they go by 0s,2s,4s, etc they also size by waist and hips; so you can always be sure of what you’re buying. For example a 00 is a 23 waist and 29/30 hips so if you know your measurements then you’re good to go.   ImageI love this dress. It’s so bright and floral and is cut very prettily at the bust. Definitely one of my favorite purchases for summer. ImageThese jeggings look amazing and fit amazingly well. It’s super comfy and it doesn’t constrict.
